Dr. Valli Parthasarathy, PhD, DVM, DACVB
Animal Behavior Expert
Dr. Valli Parthasarathy (Dr. Valli) earned her PhD and her doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) at the University of Georgia, where her research focused on attachment and separation anxiety. She has long had a passion for learning about and applying behavioral methods and training to different species — including dogs, cats, horses, parrots, and even South American pacas over the course of her nineteen-year veterinary career. While working on her PhD, she became skilled at distinguishing normal versus abnormal behavior in domesticated and exotic pets, as well as wildlife.
Dr. Valli completed her veterinary behavior residency under the mentorship of veterinary behaviorist Dr. Kenneth Martin and became a veterinary behaviorist (DACVB) in November of 2020. She is a member of the American College of Veterinary Behavior (ACVB), the American Veterinary Medical Association (ACVMA), and the Portland Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Valli is Fear-Free certified.
