TERMS & CONDITIONS
These terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”) govern your entry into and participation in the promotion. Please read these terms carefully before entering, as by entering, you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
In the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications related to the promotion, including advertising or promotional materials, these Terms and Conditions will take precedence. Please retain a copy of these Terms and Conditions for your information.
The Promoter : Mars Petcare UK, 3D Dundee Road, Slough, Berkshire, SL1 4LG, registered in England, (company number 06649984) (the “Promoter").
ELIGIBILITY
This promotion is open to residents of the UK, United States and Australia. Individuals from other countries can upload a post (with photo/video and caption) on Instagram but such entries will not be eligible for judging or winning a prize. Employees of the Promoter and Calm.com, Inc. as prize provider (together, the “Promotion Entities”), and their immediate family members, associated agents or anyone else professionally connected with the promotion are excluded from participating. “Immediate family member” means any of the following: spouse, ex-spouse, de-facto spouse, child or step-child (whether natural or by adoption), parent, step-parent, grandparent, step-grandparent, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, brother, sister, step-brother, step-sister or 1st cousin.
Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the date of entry.
Internet access and Instagram account required.
No purchase necessary.
Bulk entries, entrants using multiple accounts, addresses, email addresses, numbers or entering via agents, third parties, organised groups, syndicates or aliases, or entries automatically generated by computer, will not be accepted. Entries received by any means other than as specified in these Terms and Conditions (see Condition 7 below) will be rejected. Any person persistently trying to circumvent the entry process will be disqualified immediately. No incomplete or corrupted entries will be accepted. The entry must be made directly by the person entering the promotion. Only genuine valid entries will be considered.
PROMOTIONAL PERIOD
The promotion will run from 00:00:01 British Summer Time (BST) on 13.05.25 to 23:59:59 British Summer Time (BST) on 9.06.25 Entries submitted outside of these promotional dates will not be included in the promotion. Entries must be received within these times to be valid.
HOW TO ENTER FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN
For the chance to win, entrants must have a public Instagram account and must post a photo or short video of their pet with a caption or short video stating how their pet has helped with their mental or physical wellbeing and tag @marsglobal and @calm, using the hashtags #mypetguru and #contest. By visiting www.kinship.com/petsandwellbeing and completing the quiz on their pet in advance, an entrant can overlay one of the six stickers denoting a My Pet Guru archetype to their pet’s image and submit this photo as part of their entry. However entries posted without a My Pet Guru overlay will be valid and stand an equal chance of winning . Entries may be submitted as an Instagram Feed, Instagram Reel, or Instagram Story post. Only one entry can be submitted per person.
Only valid entry information will be accepted, and the Promoter reserves the right to disqualify and reject any inappropriate entries. All entry information is subject to verification.
In the event of suspicious activity, the Promoter reserves the right to request and gather information or obtain further evidence to confirm the legitimacy of the entry/win.
By participating in this promotion, entrants accept Instagram’s terms and conditions although it is acknowledged that the promotion is not sponsored or endorsed by, nor associated with Instagram. Participants entering release Instagram from any and all liability arising out of or in connection with their entry in the promotion.
Any entry submitted must be the work of the individual submitting it. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that their photo/video and/or caption does not infringe the copyright of any third party. The entrant warrants that they own the copyright for their photograph/video and that their entry does not infringe the privacy rights, copyright or any other rights of any person.
Entries must not:
feature violent themes, be negative or/and discriminatory of any ethnicity, race, gender, religion, profession or age group, or be profane or obscene;
promote or be about the use of illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons, alcohol or other age-restricted products, or any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message;
feature animals which appear to be neglected or otherwise harmed or distressed or depict pets in situations contrary to animal welfare;
be offensive or be about hate;
defame, misrepresent or contain negative remarks about the Promotion Entities or their products or other people, products or companies;
contain commercial names or trademarks owned by any party other than the Promotion Entities;
advertise or promote any brand or product of any kind other than those of the Promotion Entities, or contain any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses;
contain intellectual property owned by others (including brands, photographs, paintings and other works of art or images published on or in websites, television, movies or other media);
contain materials embodying photographs, footage or other indicia identifying any person, living or dead; or
depict, or themselves be in, violation of any law.
Any inappropriate or offensive material featuring in an entry may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Entries will be reviewed and moderated for content before being judged, however such review does not relieve the entrant from responsibility for compliance with these Terms and Conditions. Any entry that is found at any time to be not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions or that otherwise contains prohibited or inappropriate content (as determined by the Promoter, in its sole discretion) will be disqualified. The Promoter shall have sole and final determination as to which entries are valid and no correspondence will be entered into with respect to the validity of entries.
THE PRIZES
The prizes to be won are as follows (as detailed further in Condition 24):
3 main prizes, each of a "lifetime" subscription to Calm Premium and for the winning pet stories submitted by the winners to be featured in a bespoke piece of content to be featured on Calm (the "Main Prizes"); and
40 runner-up prizes, each of a twelve-month subscription to Calm Premium.
The Main Prizes will be awarded at the end of the promotional period. There will be one winner from each of the UK, United States and Australia, with each winner selected from all valid entries received from residents of that country during the promotional period in accordance with Condition 19 below. The 40 runner-up prizes will be distributed equally across the 4 weeks of the promotion in accordance with Condition 20 below, with 10 twelve-month subscriptions to Calm Premium awarded each week of the promotional period.
PRIZE INFORMATION
There are 43 prizes in total available to be won.
Prizes are non-transferable and must not be sold, auctioned nor advertised for sale whether on the internet, in newspapers or elsewhere. Any winner found in breach of this term will be disqualified and their prize withdrawn. No cash alternatives or other alternative prizes will be available in whole or in part, except in the event of the advertised prizes being unavailable in circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promotion Entities, whereby the Promotion Entities reserve the right to substitute the prizes with alternative prizes of equal or greater value. The prizes will only be awarded directly to the winners. In the event a winner declines their prize, the Promoter will select an alternative winner (in the event of a Main Prize winner, the alternative winner will be selected from entries posted by residents of the same country). Where a Main Prize winner has previously been awarded a runner-up prize in a weekly prize draw (so they have both a lifetime and 12-month subscription to Calm), they will be able to nominate a recipient of their runner-up prize of a 12-month subscription, who will then be bound by this Condition 17 in the context of their receipt of the prize.
In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promoter, or otherwise where fraud, abuse, and/or an error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of a prize, the Promoter reserves the right to suspend the promotion or amend these Terms and Conditions, at any stage, with no liability to any entrants or third
parties, but will always endeavor to minimize the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
WINNER SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION
Main Prize:
3 Main Prize winners will be selected by a panel of judges from all valid entries submitted, with one winner from each of the UK, United States and Australia. This panel will be made up of representatives from the Promoter and one independent judge. The 3 winners will be those chosen by the judging panel as those having submitted photographs/videos and captions which best demonstrate and describe how their relationship with their pet has inspired and improved their mental or physical wellbeing. Entries will be judged on the basis of the following criteria (the "Judging Criteria"): (i) Creativity - the entry captures attention in a memorable, exciting and meaningful way; (ii) Quality of information – the entry strongly aligns with the campaign message of how pets inspire and improve well-being daily, with a clear and positive message; and (iii) Visual Quality (the picture/video is clear). Main Prize winners may also have already won a runner-up prize (see Condition 17 above).
40 runner-up winners will be drawn randomly from all valid entries in accordance with the schedule below. The quality of the photo/video and caption will have no impact on an entrant’s chance of winning a runner-up prize, which will be determined purely by luck through a random draw.

Weekly winners will be notified within 7 days of the end of the weekly period during which they submitted the entry with a direct message to the relevant Instagram account used to for entry of the promotion and asked to provide their full name and address details.
Winners of a Main Prize will be notified within 7 days of the closing date of the promotional period with a direct message to the relevant Instagram account used to for entry of the promotion and asked to provide their full name, address details, email address and phone number to enable prize fulfilment.
Prize Redemption:
The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to contact the winners and, following successful contact, to share all relevant information to allow fulfilment of the claim and delivery of the prize. If a winner has not responded to notifications after 7 working days or if a selected winner is ineligible or declines the prize, is otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions, or unable to take up the prize for any other reason, the Promoter reserves the right to allocate the prize to an alternative winner, with the originally selected winner forfeiting their right to the prize. Winners should retain their notification message until their win has been verified.
Winners will receive a winning code and link to a claim portal to register for an account and activate their Calm Premium membership plan. Winners have until 12.03.2026 to enter their winning code via the claim portal. Individual terms and conditions specific to the Calm Premium services shall apply and can be accessed at https://www.calm.com/terms. Calm Premium subscriptions shall be limited to one account. Winners of a Main Prize “lifetime” Calm Premium subscription gain access to Calm Premium for the remaining lifetime of Calm Premium, which may not necessarily be the remainder of winner's lifetime. Calm may also launch new services in the future that are not part of Calm Premium and therefore outside of the winner's lifetime subscription prize. Any lifetime subscription is personal to the winner and may not be transferred, licensed, or sold. Winners of the Main Prize will also be interviewed by the Promotion Entities about their story with their pet supporting their wellbeing, which will form the basis for a bespoke piece of content to be featured on Calm. Winners of the Main Prize will be required to sign a release form provided by the Promoter and/or Calm authorising their pet story to be featured on Calm and in other marketing materials at the Promotion Entities’ discretion in accordance with Condition 31.
The Promotion Entities do not accept any responsibility in the event a winner does not receive their prize for a reason outside of their control, including in the event that a winner provides an incorrect email address for receipt of their code and link to the claim portal.
Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promotion Entities and their agents will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate entrants for any losses that may be incurred as a result of entering the promotion and the Promotion Entities do not accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of a winner’s acceptance of a prize except where such damage or loss is caused by the negligence of the Promotion Entities or their agents. The winners’ statutory rights are not affected.
No correspondence: Winner selection is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into with respect to the results of the weekly prize draws or Main prize judging, except with the prize winners.
DATA PRIVACY AND YOUR RIGHTS
The Promotion Entities take data protection seriously. Personal data will be treated in confidence in accordance with the Promotion Entities’ Privacy Policies at https://www.mars.com/privacy and at https://www.calm.com/privacy-policy, the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and applicable U.S. laws. The Promotion Entities’ privacy policies also contain information about how entrants may opt out, access, update or correct their Personal Information, how entrants may complain about a breach of any privacy laws or any other applicable law and how those complaints will be dealt with. Unless otherwise indicated by a Promotion Entity, a Promotion Entity may disclose Personal Information to entities outside of the entrant’s residence in accordance with its Privacy Policy and cannot guarantee that any overseas recipient will not breach applicable laws. By entering the promotion entrants’ consent to the overseas transfer on these terms as permitted by applicable laws and agree that a
Promotion Entity is not liable in this regard.
A list of winners’ details (abbreviated surname and country of residence) is available on request. Please send your request and a stamped addressed envelope to: Consumer Care, Mars Petcare UK, Freeby Lane, Melton Mowbray LE14 4RS within 3 months of the promotion close date. Should a winner wish to exercise their right to object to their information being made available, or request that it be limited in scope, they should contact the Promoter by emailing MarsHAISupport@edelman.com. The Promoter may nevertheless disclose information to regulatory authorities if required by law to do so. Details of the judging panel (abbreviated surname and country of residence) selecting the winners can also be obtained by sending a request to the same address.
In the event a winner requests for their personal data, including address details, to be deleted or limited in scope, the Promotion Entities cannot be held responsible if such request means that they are unable to complete delivery of the winner's prize or assist them with any follow-up questions. The full name and contact details of each winner will be retained for 30 days after the relevant prize has been fulfilled to allow the
Promotion Entities to deal with any queries from a winner, and always in accordance with the
Promotion Entities’ Privacy Policies.
Entrants retain the ownership to the materials (photo and caption) they submit for this promotion as well as any statements made by them regarding the promotion or prizes. However, by submitting your entry and as a condition of participation, each entrant grants the
Promotion Entities worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licenses to showcase any or all submitted materials across various media channels for publicity purposes for their products, services and brands, including by using and promoting the entry on the Promotion Entities’ own websites, social media pages, and other marketing and publicity material in any medium. Entrants recognise that the Promotion Entities have the unlimited right to edit, copy, alter, add to, take from, adapt and translate the entry, and the entrants irrevocably and unconditionally waive the benefit of their moral rights arising under Parts I and II of the CDPA and performer's non-property rights arising under Part II of the CDPA and any similar laws of any jurisdiction in favour of the Promotion Entities and all their licensees, sublicensees, assignees and successors. The Promotion Entities reserve the right to feature entries or elements from the entries at future events, subject to its discretion. In such instances, copyright owners (the entrants) will be credited. By participating in the promotion, entrants acknowledge that their entries may be used in publicity efforts without any additional payment. This publicity may include without limitation the entrant’s submission itself, along with the freely provided information such as their name, location, artistic materials, text, biographical information, and any statements made by them regarding the promotion or prizes. The Promotion Entities and their licensees have the discretion to utilize these elements in perpetuity across all media worldwide, but they are under no obligation to include any specific entrant in publicity materials.
GENERAL INFORMATION
Winners may be required, if they consent, to take part in reasonable publicity relating to this promotion without further remuneration.
The Promotion Entities are not responsible for any entries which fail to be submitted or are delayed for any technical or other reason whatsoever.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the winning entries including by asking the winners’ identity (which they must provide within 14 days but which will not be retained for more than 30 days following verification by the Promoter and redemption of the prize), including proof of age, country of residence, and may refuse to award a prize or withdraw a prize entitlement and/or refuse further participation in the promotion and disqualify a participant where there are reasonable grounds to believe there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions (including entry requirements) or otherwise where a participant has gained unfair advantage in participating in the promotion or won a prize using fraudulent means. Individuals submitting posts from outside of the UK, United States and Australia will not have their entries judged and will be disqualified if trying to circumvent these Terms and Conditions to gain entry in the promotion.
The Promoter may at its absolute discretion disqualify any participant found to be tampering with the application process or operation of the website or to be acting in any manner disruptive to the promotion.
Sometimes, through reasons outside of the Promoter’s control, Instagram (as with any website) may not be accessible. The Promoter cannot guarantee continuous, uninterrupted access to Instagram. No responsibility will be accepted for any difficulties in entering, claiming or any entries/claims delayed or corrupted. The Promoter will have no liability for any loss arising out of such an event.
Limitations of liability: Insofar as permitted by law, the Promoter does not assume any responsibility or liability for:
Any faulty, incorrect, or failed electronic data transmissions or errors;
Communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilised in any aspect of this promotion;
Inaccessibility or unavailability of the internet or the website or any combination thereof; and
Insofar as permitted by law, any injury or damage to participants or to any other person (or their property) which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the promotion.
If any clause of these Terms and Conditions is determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then it shall be deemed deleted from these Terms and Conditions. The remaining clauses shall be unaffected and remain in full force and effect.
This promotion and these Terms and Conditions (and any disputes/claims arising out of or in connection with them) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and the parties to any dispute or action shall submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts (although entrants from the United States and Australia may bring a claim in the courts of their country of residence).
